Our Story

In the beginning, there were Gourds.

Born out of the 2020 Covid Quarantine, Best Gourd in Show, known fondly as BGIS, is an annual film festival for the people by the people. Those who would like to submit 90 second videos that are "gourd tangential" - classic examples include everything from Gourd of the Rings & Jurassic Gourd to a Gourdon Ramsey interview and many memorable original Gourd inspired characters (ex: Francis HessenGourd and of course the beautiful Gourdja). BGIS is not just about submitting videos, it's about the whole experience. If you'd rather just watch the show, that's totally great too. The show itself consists of hosting segments, the submissions, a half time featuring never before seen commercials, and a few other surprises you'll just have to experience to believe.

All this to say, it's all about the gourds.
